There’s Something New in Galveston: the First Annual Cajun Crawfish Festival

The city of Galveston knows how to throw a great party! This month, they’re adding a brand new celebration to the roster, the Galveston Cajun Crawfish Festival.  Galveton Cajun Crawfish Festival logoThis event brings the best of Louisiana across the border into Galveston, featuring Cajun culinary specialties and entertainment. You’ll also find Texan cuisine and plenty of fresh Gulf seafood, but the star of the show will definitely be the Louisiana crawfish, boiled and seasoned to spicy perfection.

The festival will also feature some great musical guests. You’ll be tapping your feet to a Creole beat with Zydeco performers, blues and jazz bands and other exciting acts. (View musical line up here.)

Got a few little ones? You should absolutely bring them with you! The Kid Zone will feature games, rides and activities to keep children entertained.

The First Annual Galveston Cajun Crawfish Festival starts today, June 17, and runs through Sunday, the 19th. Join the fun in the parking lot of Kermit Courville Stadium, 1207 27th St. Tickets are $15 for adults or $40 for a three-day pass. Ages 12 and younger and active military with current ID get in for free.

This is a fun (and tasty) event for the whole family and a great way to spend Father’s Day too. Be a part of something new in Galveston!
