This is a great looking restaurant with great food and service, overlooking Lake Houston. They have a fantastic Sunday Buffet Brunch for $17.95. Not to be missed. They do serve a Chicken Fried Steak and I was ready for it to be one of the best. It wasn’t. It was very good, but there were a few things lacking.
Here is the recipe. They serve lunch on Friday and Saturday, and have several lunch specials. One of them is Chicken Fried Steak. They use sirloin, which is pounded thin and was very tender and juicy. It was covered with a crispy, lightly seasoned breading. The problem was it didn’t cover all of the steak. You don’t want bare spots on your Chicken Fried Steak
As you can see by the picture, I forgot to get the gravy on the side. They serve it on a bed of average mashed potatoes and top it with a Tasso ham gravy. They top that with fried onion strings. The portion is 5 ounces and that’s plenty. The cost is only $8.00. The Chicken Fried Steak at dinner is $9.00 for the petit (5 oz), and $17.00 for the large (10 oz). The Tasso gravy was a nice twist on the usual white gravy, but it could have been spicier. The fried onion strings were very good.
Raffa’s is a great looking restaurant with great service, and one of the best restaurants in Kingwood.

Who is that mapped man? It's the Texas Travelin' Man.
